Washington-based outdoor company REI is using new biodegradable gift cards made by NatureWorks. The gift cards are made from PLA which is a corn-based bio-plastic.

eco friendly alternatives, wonder how much?
I wonder how expensive it is to use corn-based gift cards, versus the traditional cards. Hmmm. Will have to look into it. Love the idea, i know a few other big retailers are also using eco friendly alternatives. Very cool.
