Hugg This! button and bookmark

We have two exciting developments to announce today: a new "Hugg This!" button and a bookmark for easily submitting stories from any page on the Internet!

NOTE: Currently, users must be logged in for the button and bookmark to work properly. We are working to eliminate this restriction in the near future, so we thank you for your patience!

First, for those of you with websites, we have reworked the old "Hugg This!" button to make adding Hugg to your site easier than ever. Simply add the following code to pages on your site when you want visitors to be able to submit your content to Hugg:

<script src="http://www.hugg.com/files/huggthis/huggthis.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

The button will show up on your page like this: Hugg This!

The advantage to adding the button into your page using the above code is that it allows us to make ongoing improvements to the button's functionality with no action required on your part. And, we handle getting the title and url of the page your visitors are submitting, making the process more convenient for you and your visitors.

Our second announcement is the creation of a link that you can bookmark and then click when you're visiting a page you'd like to submit to Hugg. To bookmark the following link, follow the directions below for your preferred browser:

Hugg This!

1. For Internet Explorer users, right-click on the link above and select "Add to Favorites...". Since the link uses JavaScript to grab the page's title and address for you, Explorer may warn you that the link is potentially unsafe. We promise that the link is safe!

2. For Firefox users, simply right-click the link and select "Bookmark This Link..." You may also drag the link up to your bookmarks toolbar, giving you a quick and easy way to submit stories to Hugg.

3. For Safari users, drag the link up to your bookmark toolbar and enter a name for the link when Safari prompts you.

As a little bonus, you can highlight text on the page you want to submit to Hugg, and when you click your "Hugg This!" bookmark, the "Description" area on the story submission page will be pre-filled with your highlighted text.

Thanks to our moderator, linton, for bringing the bookmark link to us!

Let us know if you have any questions or encounter any difficulty in using the button or bookmark.
