Ecuadorean authorities are investigating the clubbing deaths of 53 Galapagos Islands sea lions, including 13 pups, found in January with their skulls cracked. Authorities say it will be hard to determine who killed the animals.

Galapogas Islands
I read about this just the other day. What would make anyone do this? I doubt that it was a tourist, so it must have been a local. Given the fact that the Galapogas Islands depend on tourism that in turn depends on the local wildlife, it makes little sense really.....
