Eggs Exonerated

Eggs typically come from hens kept in battery cages

Be careful with eggs. Over 95% of eggs sold in America are from factory farms where hens are piled one on top of the other in tiny cages and treated like egg-producing machines. The over-crowded, unsanitary conditions in factory farms for eggs and meat may lead to a bird flu pandemic. There are many alternatives to cooking with eggs that are more humane, sustainable and healthier, including tofu, flax seed, and mashed bananas (for baking).
