Have you been wanting to rent green? It can quite a chore, finding any listings, and when you do, many lean heavy on the greenwashy side. A new service rolling out in Portland may go a long way to fixing that, creating a hug for green renters and landlords.

Throwplace is a hub that connects U.S. charities, international charities, businesses and individuals to "throw into" or "take from" the offerings listed on the site, to give away or get what they need. A sort of Freecycle on steroids.

This is a story that will likely make you hungry, inspired, and hopefully thinking a little broader than you started. This is a story of passion and mystery, with a twist at the end. This is about an ice cream that uses no dairy, yet tastes as good as, if not better than its milk based counterparts.

It's simple, really: You watch videos on Go Green Tube, and every time you do, a verified pound of carbon is offset. You submit videos, more people go there, and more carbon gets offset. A brilliantly easy to learn and make a difference at the same time.

    Finally, a greenstitute for styrofoam that is biologically based, works as well, and is cheaper. Huzzah!

Algae based biofuels. You've probably heard the term tossed around. But have you ever really understood what it means, what the implications are, and if it has even the slightest chance to be a viable large scale player in supplying for our fuel needs? For many of you, I'm imagining the answer is no. I was quite fuzzy about it all too. Until today.

It seems no matter where you look these days, there’s bad news about the US economy. Does that extend to the budding green collar jobs market as well? Yes and no. I spoke to Nick Ellis, Managing Partner at Bright Green Talent, a US/UK based recruiting agency with a focus on green jobs, and a commitment to walking the talk within their own company as well. It's easy to make a few changes in your product and call yourself green. But what if you decided to convert your entire product line into one made entirely from recycled plastic bottle based material, and stop making petroleum based products? That's bravery.

Sun Run has come up with a "solar as a service" model, where you don't need to buy the panels, they install and maintain them, and you just pay a low monthly utility. Could this be what gets solar out there far and wide?
