High School Students petition to get recycling in their school
Prince Georges County Maryland borders the District of Columbia and is one of the largest and wealthiest Counties in the State of Maryland. With hundreds of public school, the amount of recyclables is in the tons/week. Yet, there is not recycling anywhere to be found at the schools and the kids have taken notice. Students at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville Md, formed an enviornmental task force and put out a petition to get recycling in their schools.
The Can Man from Paradise
In the small town of Paradise, John Dreves collects, sorts and recycles cans to help fund local athletics. In the past four years, he has contributed more than $10,000 to Whitefish Community School and its 55 K-12 students.
