An environmentally themed festival will be taking place in Norwich, UK from the end of May to mid June. It will feature international writers such as Nobel prize winner JM Coetzee and the Pulitzer prize winning poet CK Williams as well as nature writers such as Gretel Ehrlich, Richard Mabey, Adam Thorpe and Mark Cocker. They will be joined by Tony Juiper (Director of Friends of the Earth UK), Scientists from the RSPB and the renowned University of East Anglia's centre of Climate Change Study and all will take part in debates, readings, performances and workshops.

Spanish Literature and Religious Environmentalism: A Green Lent Update
The Boston Globe published an article today about Nina M. Scott, a retired University of Massachusetts Amherst professor of Spanish Literature.  Instead of chocolate, Scott has chosen to give up carbon this Lent.  She is doing a few extra things to reduce her carbon footprint, such as hanging her clothes up instead of using a drier and carpooling to use less fuel.
