Today i read about a new program the federal government of Canada is thinking about launching which will see electronic waste (computers, fax machines and crap like that) recycled instead of put in the dumps (most likely in Michigan). The Canadian Press reported that the feds want to curb the dumping of electronics as many of these products contain toxic elements such as lead, cadmium and mercury. The above may leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy about our guv and their awesome plans to save our earth, there are a few items that i do want to shoot holes through, so hold on.

How to recycle your cell phone, painlessly
(via www.triplepundit.com)
The current options for recycling your cell phone all forget one thing: people are lazy. Pay to recycle? Right! Dig up an old envelope that came with your phone? Not going to happen. Sherwood Folee has a better idea: glue a tiny envelope on the inside of your battery cover. Open it, drop in the mail, done. Cell phone companies, are you listening?
