Green Party

Thanks to the voices and actions of thousands of informed Canadians, the broadcast consortium has reversed their decision and allowed Elizabeth May to take part in the nationally televised leaders debates. The New Democrats and the Conservatives had said earlier this week that they would not participate if Ms. May were allowed on the stage. After intense public pressure, the leaders of both parties have been forced to withdraw their threats.

Well it's official.  Canadians will once again go to the polls on October 14th, 2008.  Mr. Harper once again using the backs of the Canadian voters to advance his agendas. 

Why is it that biofuels are becoming the ire of green activists while petroleum appears to be getting a free pass? Groups that should be overjoyed at the prospect of destroying our oil addiction are the same ones that appear to be doing Big Oil’s bidding. What gives?

One of the many problems with trying to get people to live greener is the widely held view that it involves uncomfortable sacrifice. For instance, at one end of the spectrum is the so-called “No Impact Man,” (www.noimpactman.com) who made a well-publicized experiment of living in New York City for one year and attempting to have no net impact on the environment.
